Caitlin D., the creator and principal writer of ‘TBI on the Hill’, is a graduate of Duke University, with a B.A. in Political Science. Professionally, Caitlin has experience in both politics and journalism. She is also a traumatic brain injury survivor. Years ago, she was a pedestrian in a hit-and-run auto accident, from which she was initially not expected to survive.
From her experience, Caitlin has seen the disparity of knowledge about and lack of understanding of brain injury within the public sphere and, especially, in politics. She started this blog so that people can know what is and is not being done and being said about brain injury within government. Through this blog, Caitlin hopes to show to survivors and their families, friends, etc. that while we may be misunderstood, we are not forgotten.
